‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Reveals The New Captain America’s Origin

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Captain America

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Captain America The Falcon and The Winter Soldier episode two revealed the origin of John Walker, A.K.A. the new Captain America.

After the dramatic ending of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier‘s premiere revealed a brand new Captain America instead of Sam Wilson, the second episode started by focusing on who John Walker is. The huge ceremony (set to a new version of The Star Spangled Man) was set at his old high school, before the interview revealed that he’s been awarded the Medal of Honor three times, as well as having an established career in counterterrorism as a special forces soldier.

But the most surprising part of John Walker’s origin story is that he doesn’t actually have any special abilities, nor does he have any kind of super-serum coursing through his veins like Steve Rogers did. He made sure to point out that he’s not like “Tony Stark or Doctor Banner” in the sense that he has no fancy gadgets or extra strength. He might be a new hero, but he’s also a regular human being (even if he’s at the height of human athleticism). Plus, there’s no denying that he can hurl the shield pretty well in a fight, as we saw him go up against the Flag Smashers later on in the episode. But he’s also not afraid to butt heads with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, telling them to stay out of his way at the end of the episode after his offer of teaming up with the pair was rejected a number of times.

What do you think to the new Captain America? Are you impressed by Wyatt Russell’s performance as John Walker? Sound-off in the comments below!
